98 USERS Updates for 98 are available below. Because of the gradual reduction in the number of Windows 98 users no further updates are being made to this section. XP & 2000 USERS will continue to receive updated information on our latest progress on this page. We only offer updates where customers are requesting specific features or are having difficulties with certain issues. Otherwise this is a good reference for the latest version being shipped so please come back regularly.

 

Updates for Single Cam Version

There are no updates for this version but a complete re-write took place in October 2002 and all the features from the 4 cam GOLD version have been transferred to the this new release of the single cam including the 3 detection engines and mask features etc.  All distributors now stock the new Stealth Big Brother au:1 GOLD single cam software or it is supplied with a USB to composite adaptor. This also includes on-line access to new help files.

The free version available from this site and from download.com will remain unchanged and will NOT reflect the enhancements made in the new release of the 'paid for' version. We have no plan to update this version in the future even though we are aware of some incompatibilities with some cameras and that it has outdated help files.

No further support is provided for this model as we are suggesting that customers upgrade their operating system to XP for stable video capture.

 

Updates for 4 Cam Windows XP users

New help files are now available for XP 4 cam users 
(New Aug 2002 - updated throughout Sept. and Oct. 2002)

There are currently no software updates available but for your reference here is the build history for the past year.

• The final build for Stealth Big Brother XP was Aug 5th and this date will be shown associated with the file setupXP.exe on your CDROM. This version was shipped with (and only works with) the 4 input capture card. Customers reporting bugs with earlier versions were shipped this version too as an update. Customers wishing to switch from the 98 version to the XP version are charged at the full retail rate. Distributors exhausted their stocks of this model in September 2002
  
  
• The first shipment of Stealth Big Brother XP au:4 GOLD was made in October 2002 (replacing the version above) together with the first shipment of capture card featuring 4 inputs and 1 output. As well as many refinements this version also features a compact driver set for the new capture card. On this shipment we withdrew the inclusion of the 98 version on the CDROM. This is the first version to include the new on-line help files.

• On shipments made to distributors after October 9th some very minor improvements were made to the graphics and a slight improvement to the way the "Load last mask' button works otherwise no bugs have been reported on this build.

• Future development. We are no longer receiving comments about bugs on the Gold version and therefore, all going well, we do not plan any further updates of this model. We are now spending our development time working on newer more expensive versions for bespoke applications.
